Theme: Prepare for the day of the Lord
Texts: Matthew 24: 36-51
Preacher: Dr. Abel MUYISA
Just as a natural disaster can strike suddenly, so too will the day of the Lord. We see this in the story of Noah. The people around him were caught unprepared when the flood came, living their lives without a care for what was to come. Noah, however, was different. He understood the message from God and took action, building the ark and preparing for the coming storm.
What does it mean to be prepared for the Day of the Lord?
Below are three key points:
- Stay Awake: This means being attentive to the message of God, particularly the prophecies surrounding Christ's second coming. It's about staying informed and discerning spiritual matters.
- Be Ready: This requires a change in our lives. Our actions, attitudes, and priorities should all reflect our preparation. We should focus less on worldly things and more on what truly matters - our faith and living a Christ-centered life.
Ask yourselves:
- How has my life changed since I understood the Lord is coming?
- Are my actions aligned with my faith?
These questions can help us identify areas for improvement and ensure our actions reflect our beliefs.
- Remain Faithful: As we wait for the Lord's return, we are called to be faithful servants, committed to God's purpose for our lives and the assignment he gave us. We should be actively bearing fruit.
Beloved in Christ,
Let us prepare ourselves for the Day of the Lord by staying awake to His message, being ready through our actions, and remaining faithful to His calling. May we live each day with purpose, dedicated to serving Him and bearing fruit that reflects our faith.
