God's Not Done

Sunday 31st December  2023

Theme: God is not done.

Texts: Philippians 3:12-14

Preacher: Serge KIRIPI

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it's natural to reflect on the past. Did we achieve our goals? Did we fall short? While resolutions may come and go, one thing remains constant: God's love and purpose for our lives. Today, let's explore this truth through the lens of Paul's determination from the above passage.

Paul, was a man driven by ambition even before encountering Christ. After finding his true purpose in God, his focus shifted. He dedicated himself to serving the Lord, winning souls, and building up churches. Yet, despite his remarkable accomplishments, Paul saw them as just the beginning, not the end. He reminds us that there's always a greater goal to pursue.

As we look back on our year, some may feel like failures, blaming themselves or circumstances. God works in mysterious ways, often using our struggles and setbacks to shape us and reveal His grace. Remember, His power is made perfect in our weakness. This is not a reason to give up, but a reason to trust in His ongoing work in our lives. God is still at work.

For those who achieved their goals, remember that true success comes from God's grace, not our strength. Don't let accomplishments distract you from the ultimate goal: knowing and serving Him. Instead, use your success to uplift and support others, sharing the gospel and helping them reach their potential.

Let's shift our focus from individual resolutions to a shared purpose rooted in Matthew 6:33: "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you." This isn't about neglecting our responsibilities, but about prioritizing God's will above all else.

Brethren, let's not dwell on past successes or failures. Instead, let's fix our eyes on God, knowing He is not done with us. Let's focus on loving Him and seeking His kingdom, and trust that He will do amazing things in the new year, according to His perfect will and promises.
