What lesson to be drawn from the healed lady’s faith

Texts: Mark 5:24-34

Preacher: Dr. MUTEHO KASONGO

Today, we will reflect on the actions of faith that ground the church and can heal and transform situations.

The woman who bled for 12 years had faith in Jesus Christ. She was so convinced of his healing power that she was willing to break social taboos and touch him, even though she was considered unclean. Her act of faith was rewarded when she was instantly healed.

As we talk about the church's mission, we must remember that it is Jesus' mission. The kingdom of God is meant to be manifested on earth, and Jesus entrusted this mission to the church. The church is intended to do the work that Jesus could have done.

As a church, we gather and have faith. But we must also reflect on how we can put our faith into action. We must be aware of the challenges that exist in our society, such as poverty, political crisis, war, insecurity, and lost souls. It is the church's role to share the knowledge that Jesus is the only savior. But our role should not be limited to prayer. We must also go out and rebuke what is not right in our society, as Jesus did. This includes preaching the gospel, advocating for peace, and addressing the root causes of injustice.

We cannot be indifferent to the challenges that our world faces. Silence is not an act of faith. Faith gives us hope and the courage to act. The church must be strong in advocating for peace, for what is right, and for justice. We must address the wrongs in our society, and our actions must be practical. Believers must mobilize themselves and put their faith into action to bring about change.

Brethren, faith is meant to be manifested. We are called to put our faith in action wisely as it is the church's mission.
