Topic: The call is Answered

Texts: Matthew 28:16-20, John 10 :10, James 4:17, Matthew 22

Preacher: Evangelist William Lewis

Our church being about discipleship, we must engage on things that stir full the work of ministry, when you read Matthew 28, the first thing that catches your attention is the fact that Christ urges his apostles to make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and then teach them his commandments,

As born-again Christians, we must know who we are in Christ because the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, trying to lead us astray from the calling of God, which is the great commission that Christ has delegated to us, he calls us to go out there to spread the good news of the gospel, to baptize, and then teach his commandments to all nations.

Sometimes we miss our commission because we think it’s only about preaching on an altar, but it’s way more than that, God has blessed us with different talents and gifts, we must consult him and assess ourselves in order to know exactly what we’re called to do in the body of Christ. The question we must ask ourselves is what exactly is hindering us from answering the call of God, which is the great commission? And do we sin if we don’t execute this order from Christ? Well, we must keep in mind that this great commission is not a request but a command, therefore whoever does not answer to this calling is committing a sin of omission, but when we put our talents and gifts at the disposal of the ministry then we have accepted to follow the instruction of our Lord.

Are we ready to answer that call?

Dear congregation, the love we have for God and our neighbors will help us to follow the instruction which is the great commission and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
