Topic:  The salvific work of Christ for the integral salvation of the whole man and every man.

Texts: Romans 10:1-4 & from verse 8-15

Preacher: JEREMIE NDABO

As we ought to carry out an impactful mission of sharing the good news of the Gospel, we will be dissecting the above passage in order to move from just being motivated for the mission to being inspired for the mission.

Being motivated for the mission can be due to many reasons which are personal; like the fact of believing that there will be a reward or the fear of being judged or punished, etc. On the other hand, being inspired for the mission is basically being inspired by Christ himself, by the reason of which he saved us. The love we have for our neighbors must drive us to share the good news of the gospel with them. Today's passage allows us to note the following points about the nature of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ:

  • The redemptive work of Jesus Christ is good news, not a collection of good advice. Referring to the above scriptures, Paul speaks of the Jews trying to establish righteousness on their own by means of laws, rules, regulations, etc. to be in right standing with God, but all these efforts were not enough to make them right with God.
  • We could not save ourselves, we all failed, but despite our failures, our sins, we were saved, Jesus intervened and paid for our bail.
  • The redemptive work of Jesus Christ is good news that declares what Jesus accomplished to reconcile us with God, forgiveness is costly, but God buried the cost through Jesus Christ on the cross.
  • Salvation flows continuously in our lives as we believe in the redemptive work and become ambassadors of Christ on earth.

Brothers and sisters, the Lord has chosen to use us as vessels to spread the good news of the gospel, we must understand that the mission is where our feet are. All our efforts to be right with God will eventually fail, the only thing to do is to turn to Jesus who enables us to live a righteous life, and if we have experienced it let's not keep it to ourselves, let's be missionaries where our feet are and support those in ministry.
