Topic: There is a time for every purpose

Preacher: Brother William Lewis

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and 17

On this last Sunday which end the international month, we will say goodbye to our former pastor who has been in charge of English service over the last six years. The day will end with an exclusive praise and worship service.

Many people wondered why the pastor should have to leave, be sure that nothing happened it’s just time for him to move away because there is a time for everything in life.

Today we will be talking about the book of Ecclesiastes with Solomon as the author who tries to respond to the question about why things happen in life.

Every human being exists with two times:

  • Chronos time is the forward propelling time that we measure with clocks on which everything is secret.
  • Kairos time signifies a proper or opportune time for action, this time can’t be planned by human, it’s controlled by God.

Three points will guide our message today:

  1. Time waits for no man: we have 4 seasons summer, winter, autumn and spring. As the earth is moving, seasons change but one thing remain constant is the sun. As Christians, we have also many seasons, as we move to good or bad seasons, always one thing that is constant in our lives is Jesus who is the same, yesterday, today and forever. As Jesus is always the same, that the reason why we have to go, cause Jesus will always be there, in good and bad seasons. We have no reason to stand still cause time waits for no man. We will live new experiences if we move to the next chapter.
  2. Every season has a time frame: You will never work alone in your bad or good seasons, they will never last forever. The question is “what do you do while passing through all this good or bad times as you know that those seasons will not last forever? Keep doing, keep working, keep fasting, keep praying cause that season would not last forever.
  3. Every season comes with its own testimony: a testimony is that thing that God has done for you. A testimony is about where God has taken us and where He is taking us. In every season there’s a good coming out, we have just to trust God when passing through good or bad times.

Dear congregation as you are moving on your way, be strong and courageous, the Lord will provide for you, he will never leave nor forsake you as it was done for Noah and David. Jesus remains the same, yesterday, today and forever. Amen.
